Myjobmag.com carried out a survey on over 3, 500 Nigerians that are actively and passively searching for a job to find out what works in Nigeria’s job market

Lagos, Nigeria. (March 6, 2019) – Fastest growing jobs in Nigeria publishing platform MyJobMag has again contributed to the challenge of unemployment in the country. Its contribution is greatly reflected in the currently published job-search survey. A great approach to discover what works in Nigeria’s job market for both job-seekers and employers.

Looking at the growing level of unemployment in the country, myjobmag.com decided to carry out a survey on both employed and unemployed people to understand what is going on in Nigeria’s job market. From the survey, it was discovered that many Nigerians are unemployed because they don’t have the right skills and network that can help them land the job of their dreams.

Tolu Elutilo: (HR Business Partner, World bay Technologies) “Most unemployed graduates lack the necessary skills to succeed in the workplace. With this in mind companies place a high demand on a talent”

Looking at the availability of jobs and the stiff competition in Nigeria’s job market, it would not be a wrong question for people to ask: “how are employed people getting their jobs?” From the survey, it is noticed that a huge 61.9% of employed Nigerians got their jobs through networking using both offline and online platforms like linkedIn, Facebook etc.

Emmanuel Alikiwe, Resourcing Officer, Action Against Hunger | ACF-USA:

“LinkedIn tops the list; this is because it has the largest community of talents from different career backgrounds that are either active or passive about job opportunities. It is also a platform where employers and talents meet to attract each other. “

The job-search survey examines all the factors that affect the Nigerian job market and job-search in Nigeria. From job-search duration, tools, average compensation rate, and job-search advice.
